What we’ve been doing this summer at Mill Creek Farm
Perhaps the biggest delight of this summer has been working with our interns, including four from Saul Agricultural High School. They work 20 hours a week, and bring energy and enthusiasm to every hour. They’ll be working through August 6.
Willing Workers
Lots of other folks have contributed to the work of the farm this season. We've had work days with Mariposa Coop, The Broad Street Ministry and Neighborhood Bike Works … in addition to our regularly scheduled volunteer work days.
School Visits
We've had a variety of school visits this season from: Friends Select, Robeson, Patterson and Blankenburg. We're already planning the fall schedule of school visits. If you're aware of any teachers who might be interested in visiting the farm with their classrooms, email millcreekfarm@resist.ca and let us know.
Other Activities
- We're working with youth programs at the Broad Street Ministry, Southwest Community Enrichment Center, Neighborhood Bike Works, Mural Arts, Urban Nutrition Initiative, Temple Summer Academy, and Belmont Charter School
- Fundraising: we are starting to plan our end of season party – please check back for more details.
